A PET scanner for the north is closer to reality. The scanner will be housed at Health Sciences North in Sudbury and the Northeast LHIN has approved a plan for the facility. The LHIN’s approval paves the way for the Ministry of Health to also rubber-stamp a new 3,800 square foot building. The north has to raise $3.5 million to buy the scanner and then the ministry will cover the annual $1.6 million operating costs.
