Motorist nailed with hefty fine

It’s a $490 ticket for a man who failed to stop for an Espanola police cruiser which was trying to catch another motorist in town.  Police say the driver wouldn’t stop even though the cruiser had both its lights and siren on.  When the driver and police officer got to the junction of Highway 17 and 6, the officer pulled up alongside him and told him to pull over.  The man told the cop he didn’t see him, even though the officer was behind him for about a mile.
