NDP applauding a Liberal move to better fund health care for First Nations, to the tune of $222M

The provincial New Democrat for Timmins-James Bay says provincial health funding for First Nations is a step in the right direction. Gilles Bisson made the comment after the Ontario Liberals announced $222 million to improve health care among Aboriginal communities.T he money will boost health services for many First Nations, for things like creating better access to care.

While Bisson welcomes he funding he adds, everyone needs to ensure that the right changes are made. He’ll be meeting with First Nation chiefs when they visit Queens Park in early June to address this point.
