The Progressive Conservative member for Nipissing says our power bills will skyrocket if the Wynne Liberals force us to switch from natural gas to hydro. Vic Fedeli says it`s unbelievable that the Liberals are even considering a move and adds the government has gone beyond being ridiculous.
He says electricity bills have quadrupled under the Liberals, and taking us off natural gas will force those bills even higher.  Fedeli says the Liberal document will create hardships for families in the north where they have to decide whether to heat or eat.
In a sign of frustration, the Tory finance critic also says `we can`t get rid of the Liberals fast enough`. Fedeli also says forcing the switch to electric is bad news for the mining and forestry sector in the north which already face very high power rates.
The switch to electricity from gas is contained in a leaked Cabinet document and so far the Liberals won`t deny or confirm its contents.
