Berry samples are being linked to Hepatitis A outbreak

We’re now hearing that some people tried samples of frozen berries sold at Costco outlets that are linked to a Hepatitis A outbreak. The Sudbury and District Health Unit says the samples were served on March 22nd and 23rd.

Ten people in Ontario have come down with Hepatitis A although the health unit says it’s not aware of any regional cases. The health unit is telling people who may have bought or eaten the frozen berries to call the health unit for a vaccination.

Symptoms to watch for include fever, stomach pain, dark urine vomiting and diarrhea. The frozen berries, which have been recalled, are sold under the name Nature’s Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend.
