OPP Release suspects name in Sagamok Shooting incident-still in lockdown

At approximately 9:30 a.m., on February 16, 2016, officers from the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) Sagamok Detachment with the assistance of members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a firearms related incident at a residence on Sagamok Anishnawbek.

At present, the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), the OPP Canine Unit, the OPP Tactical and Rescue Unit, (TRU) and the Sudbury OPP Crime Unit are assisting in the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Martin GRAHAM from the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

At this time, officers are searching the area for a male suspect, who should be considered as armed and dangerous.

Trystan Ashley SAGO, aged 32, of Sagamok Anishnawbek remains outstanding as the suspect in this matter. He is described as male of First Nations descent, 5’11” tall, approximately 185 pounds with short dark hair.

Schools in the area remain in lockdown and residents are requested to stay secure in their homes and report any suspect activities or persons immediately to police by calling 9-1-1.  Do not approach or come into contact with the suspect.
