Health unit may see new directors

Directors with Algoma Public Health go under the microscope beginning next Tuesday.  That’s when the non-profit agency Institute on Governance looks at their qualifications.  IOG will also interview health unit employees and mayors across Algoma.  It’s trying to develop the right set of skills and experience potential directors should have to sit on the health unit.

Last June the minister of health released a report indicating that the former medical officer of health and past boards were failures.  At one point criminal charges were also laid against a former worker.
