The status of a Northern Ontario federal NDP member has just been elevated. Charlie Angus, who is the member for Timmins-James Bay, has been elected chair of the party’s national caucus. Angus says the position lets him discuss where the party is on the national scene. The position essentially makes Angus the voice of the party when it comes to tacking issues.  Angus remains the NDP’s critic for Indigenous and Northern Affairs.
