Iroquois Falls mill gets second chance

It’s a second chance at life for the Resolute Mill in Iroquois Falls.  The firm, Abitibi Riversedge, has bought the mill and adjoining properties.  Company CEO Justus Veldman says the next step to re-purpose the mill is to find a use that doesn’t involve forest-related manufacturing.

That means cleaning up the site, a process that will take about two years and create local jobs.  However Veldman wasn’t specific about the job creation numbers.  The announcement to re-purpose the Resolute Mill was made in front of a crowd of 400 people in the hard-hit town.
