Sault man seeks $2 million from OPP in lawsuit

A bizarre lawsuit is underway in Sault Ste. Marie after the OPP tasered a man whose son was the subject of a citizen’s arrest.  The son cut off another driver with his truck on Highway 17 near Heyden and two women then followed the truck and boxed it in.  OPP were called and the truck driver was arrested and put in a cruiser.

When his dad arrived, he opened the police car door and that’s when an officer told him to lie on the ground because he was under arrest.  The father refused but then turned around when ordered by the cop and was tasered twice in the back.  The father is suing for a total of two million dollars which include false arrest, battery and assault. The OPP aren’t commenting because the case is before the courts.
