An audit committee has cleared Sudbury mayor Brian Bigger over a claim that his election expenses violated the Municipal Elections Act. The allegation came from a Sudbury resident. Instead it accepted the argument from Bigger’s lawyer that a simple mistake was made when the mayor filed his election expenses. His lawyer says Bigger had nothing to gain by falsifying information because he was well under the spending limit during the campaign.
