Ministry of Labour intervenes in Sudbury jail dispute

The Ministry of Labour had to intervene between management at the Sudbury jail and corrections officers.  At issue is the officers wanting more protective equipment before searching for an edged weapon that some say was in the jail house.  When the officers refused to search for the weapon, management called the Ministry of Labour.  The MOL ordered the officers to comply with management’s request which they did.  However, no weapon was found, and it’s not known if it’s still among the prisoners.
