Rainbow school food drives big success

Each year Rainbow students undertake drives for the food banks in the Manitoulin, Espanola and Sudbury regions.  Last year the program, known as Kids Helping Kids Food Drive, raised almost 176,000 pieces of food.  This year the students decided to see if they could bring in a quarter million articles of food.

They did that and more by raising 308,000 items.  In addition to the food, almost $26,000 was collected by the various schools for the area food banks.  Education director Norm Blaseg commended the students and staff for an incredible effort and going that extra mile.
