The MP for Timmins-James Bay is applauding the move to look into why so many Aboriginal women have been murdered or gone missing. Charlie Angus says the new Liberal government is on the right track. Angus is the NDP’s critic for Indigenous Affairs and says the inquiry is badly needed and hopes the inquiry stays clear of political party affiliations. The New Democrats and many First Nations have been calling for a national inquiry on this issue for years.
