Espanola crews are working as quickly as possible, but expect delays

Espanola CEO Joseph Burtke says Espanola Public Works crews have been working since the middle of last night to open up roads for safe passage, and they will continue to contend with the impacts of rain and freezing conditions.

Public Works response remains all hands on deck.
Significant Weather Event declaration remains in effect until further notice.
Heavy snow has narrowed many streets to about a lane and a half.
Burke says the work plan is to wing back snowbanks to widen roads and then re-plow for safe travel.
This takes more time.
He says, as for driveways, as roads are widened and replowed, driveway entrances may be filled in again, and residents should plan accordingly.
Sidewalks
Targeting Wednesday to tackle sidewalks as conditions allow.
Smaller sidewalk equipment cannot handle this snow.
Sidewalks will require heavy snow removal equipment such as large loader-mounted blowers and dump trucks.
Intersections
Crews will eventually open corners and intersections that have become tight from plowing.
This improves visibility and turning space.
Facilities
The Municipal Office and the Complex will be cleaned up for reopening tomorrow, depending on evolving conditions.
