Truck removed from Killarney Channel

Killarney is getting back to normal after a 45-ton truck was pulled from the water after being submerged for 10 days.  A giant crane hoisted the vehicle from the Killarney Channel on Thursday.  The truck fell into the channel after slipping off a barge last week on Monday.  Some of the truck’s diesel fuel leaked into the water prompting a water advisory for residents who draw their water from the channel.  During yesterday’s salvage operation, crews took steps to ensure no more diesel got out as the truck was raised to the surface.
