Diversity gathering for Grade 7 and 8 Rainbow school students

Rainbow Schools including students from Espanola, Massey and Manitoulin Island will be taking in the Embrace Diversity: Free to Be Me conference today.
Board officials say the half-day symposium will be held at Lockerby Composite School (from 9:30 am to 1 pm), creating and enhancing school-based supports for students in grades 7 and 8.
Since its inception in 2009, the event has expanded to include poverty, race, culture and disabilities.
During the event, students can participate in various workshops, focusing on belonging, handling anxiety and stress, the Internet, social media safety, and more.
