Moose radiothons in Elliot Lake and Espanola raise big bucks

The generosity of residents in Algoma Manitoulin was clearly evident with two annual radiothons.  In Elliot Lake, Moose FM helped the Salvation Army collect about $30,000 in money and goods over two days.  Some money was raised from a toll booth outside CKNR and a lot of toys came from the Stuff an OPP cruiser event.

There were so many goods for the cruiser that three more vehicles had to be brought in.  And one anonymous individual gave OPP Community Services Officer Christine Ouimet $500 then drove away.  In Espanola, the one day radiothon raised just more than $19,000 for the local hospital.  The funds will go towards buying medical equipment that help people who have trouble breathing.
