Fundraisers today

Elliot Lake and Espanola have fundraisers on the go today as we get closer to Christmas.  Moose FM in Espanola is partnering with the local hospital to raise $33,000.  That money will be used to buy equipment for patients who experience severe acute respiratory failure.  Hospital staff will join morning host Roz Russell and there’s live music including songs from Juno award winner Crystal Shawanda.

The broadcast runs until 6:00 pm this evening and to make a pledge call 869-6999 or 869-0578.   In Elliot Lake, in addition to the annual radiothon, the local detachment of the OPP is partnering with the Salvation Army and Moose FM to stuff a cruiser.  The police car will be parked outside Moose FM on Ontario and the goal is to stuff the vehicle with toys and other goods.  The event runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  Meanwhile day 1 of the Elliot Lake radiothon with Bob Alexander raised nearly $6,800.
