Manitoulin OPP is asking for the public’s help with two break and enter investigations that occurred in Espanola last week, one at the Legion Hall, the other at a cannabis shop.
Constable Berkley Parisien says at around 4:00 a.m. last Monday (October 27), officers responded to an alarm call at the High Life Cannabis Store in Espanola.
She says upon arrival, police determined a break and enter occurred, and several items were suspected to be stolen.
She says at around 8:30 a.m., officers also responded to a break and enter at the Espanola Legion, where an unknown individual had broken into the building and stole several items.
Legion President Bill Noon says they were able to clean the facility following the police investigation and will restock the meat that was stolen for their Roll-off and Remembrance Day Luncheon.
Noon adds he appreciates the concern expressed by the public, and thanks them for their support.
Parisien adds police believe the two occurrences to be related, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information related to these incidents is asked to contact the Manitoulin OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
