The St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation in Elliot Lake has received a donation in memory of a former businessman.
Scott Holmes, the general manager of Wendall Farquhar Trucking presented a cheque for $25,000 to the foundation last week, funds that were raised through the company’s annual golf tournament.
He says over 100 people took in the event this year resulting in the donation with the funds going towards supporting the foundation and serving as a fitting tribute to company founder, the late Wendall Farquhar.
Farquhar started the trucking company back in 1974 and oversaw the operation until his passing in 2021.
In the last three years, the company has raised over $50,000 to the foundation.
