Inquest called into death of Wiikwemkoong man

A coroner’s inquest has been called into the death of a Wiikwemkoong man.
The Sudbury office announced Friday that a date has been set for the inquest into the death of Justin Alexander Trudeau of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory who was 44 years old at the time of his passing.
He died on February 13, 2021, while in custody at the Sudbury Jail.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 20th at the Sudbury Court House.
Dr. Ronald Goldstein will be the presiding officer, and Robert Kozak and Jenna Simpson will be the inquest counsel.
The inquest is expected to last eight days and will hear from 14 witnesses, and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
The inquest will be conducted by video conference.
