The Greater Sudbury Cubs needed overtime to edge out the Blind River Beavers this weekend.
An early Eidan Macartney effort in overtime proved to be the decider as the Cubs edged out the Beavers 4-3 in a Sunday afternoon match-up at the Blind River Community Centre.
On Saturday, Powassan Voodoos forward Jax Pereira tied the game late in regulation, then ripped in the game-winner while going in alone 4:35 into overtime, to give his team a 3-2 victory over the Espanola Paper Kings at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
