Local groups in the Blind River area are invited to apply for Cameco’s annual mental health grants.
General Manager Terry Davis says for the fourth consecutive year, the Cameco refinery is offering local charities, community groups and organizations the opportunity to apply for funding through the Cameco Fund for Mental Health.
He says last May, the company held its fourth annual Cameco Charity Golf Tournament, raising over $25,000, over $6,000 more compared to last year.
He adds since it launched in 2022, the Cameco Fund for Mental Health has raised over $75,000 with 15 recipients receiving financial support through the grants.
Davis says there is $25,000 available through the program and the applications must be received by October 31st.
