Over 400 people took in a mini powwow in Espanola yesterday, all part of Truth and Reconciliation Day.
It was a sea of orange as well, as part of Orange Shirt Day, with students from local schools also taking part for the first time in the gathering, the fifth held in town.
The day began with a Sacred Fire lit by Espanola High School and followed with an opening drum song, prayer, honour dance and more.
The event was organized by Noojmowin Teg in partnership with the town and First Nations across the North Shore and Manitoulin Island.
