A new player to the Espanola Paper Kings has been named as one of the top stars from the opening week of the regular season.
Joseph Coates, a forward with the Kings leading all league skaters in offensive production.
The 20-year-old from Belleville, Ontario, lit the lamp five times over the course of three games for Espanola and dished out a trio of helpers, with the Paper Kings beginning their year with a pair of wins against one defeat.
Coming out of the Quinte Red Devils under-18 system, Coates spent the past two years with the Frankford Huskies (PJCHL) averaging well over a point-per-game prior to arriving in Espanola.
