The City of Elliot Lake is receiving a Trillium Grant for improvement to the Collins Hall.
The city had applied for a $200,000 Trillium grant to upgrade the heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment at the facility.
Over the last year, there has been concern about the existing system with workers stating some days the hall was very cold.
Although there is still no date set for installation of the new equipment, getting the funding was the first step.
The procurement process, including design, will now begin and it is expected the improvements will be made in the near future.
