Manitoulin OPP assisting in knife-related investigation involving injured officer

Manitoulin OPP is investigating a knife-related incident that resulted in serious injuries to a Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service officer.

Const. Berkley Parisien says yesterday around 5 a.m., officers responded to a request for assistance from the police service regarding an incident on Andrew Crescent in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.

She says their officer sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital by Ornge air ambulance.

Parisien adds two individuals have been arrested, adding further information will be released as it becomes available.
