Manitoulin Group acquires Quebec motor carrier

The Manitoulin Group of Companies is expanding its presence in northwestern Quebec and Ontario with the acquisition of a transport company out of Quebec.
According to the release, the group, part of Manitoulin Transport, acquired Martin Roy Transport of Rouyn-Noranda on July 18th.
Manitoulin Transport president Jeff Kings says Martin Roy was established in 1998 and operates terminals in Val-d’Or, Dorval, Timmins, Mississauga, North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, and Thunder Bay.
He says with a comparable terminal network footprint in many locations, there are significant opportunities to enhance their service in the market.
Martin Roy, president of Martin Roy Transport, said joining Manitoulin marks an exciting new chapter for the company.
The Gore Bay-based Manitoulin Group operates an international portfolio of companies, which include ground transportation, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and warehousing.
