Free trade between provinces and territories

Canada’s premiers are working on a mutual recognition agreement which would eliminate barriers and open up free trade across the country.
Officials say the goal is to have the agreement in place by December.
The 13 provincial and territorial leaders presented a united front when questioned about internal trade at the conclusion of the three-day Council of the Federation meetings in Huntsville (Ontario) yesterday. (Ontario) Premier Doug Ford says they’ve come a long way with the signing of 11 memorandums of understanding between provinces and territories, and that conversations are ongoing.
Ford says reducing barriers and opening up internal trade will boost the country’s economy by $200 billion dollars.
New Brunswick Premier Susan Holt says the goal is to be able to have someone transport a good made in B.C. and shipped all the way across the country without added burden, pause or cost.
