Espanola artist donates original art to the Town

An Espanola artist, Penny Bois, turned over Perspective, a graphite and pastel on paper original work, to the Town of Espanola yesterday.

At the unveiling, Espanola Manager of Community and Recreation, Bailey Bouwmeester, extended thanks to Bois on behalf of the community for the painting, which can be viewed at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.

Bois says the piece is a reflection of mental and physical health and well-being, so she believed it was a natural fit to have it displayed in the complex where so many community members and visitors come to focus on their mental and physical health.

She also highlighted the “barbed wire” bracelet which is actually featuring the statement “be strong, be free” in eight languages.

The work is now on permanent display in the lobby.
