Flooding of 2025 focus of public river monitoring meeting

The Municipality of Huron Shores is inviting residents and community members to attend a Mississagi River Monitoring Committee meeting, focusing on the 2025 spring flood event and ongoing monitoring of the Mississagi River system.
Officials say the session will include participation from the regulatory authority, offering residents an opportunity to learn more about how river flows are managed, and to ask questions about the processes and coordination in place during high water events.
The session is open to all residents interested in better understanding how high-water events are monitored and managed along the river system.
The meeting will be held in person at the Municipal Office and live on Zoom on July 9th, at 1 p.m.., with a recording available afterward for those unable to attend.
