Espanola’s hospital foundation launches new fundraising campaign

The Espanola Regional Hospital Foundation has launched its latest fundraising campaign.
Officials say the campaign, titled “Together for Training”, has set a goal of $150,000 to build a Healthcard medical learners practice critical skills — like resuscitation, trauma care, and safe medication delivery, and critical care equipment training — in a safe, realistic environment.
The Sim Lab will be used by emergency and hospitalist staff, family medicine residents, nursing staff and students, and visiting medical students, especially those training with NOSM University.
By building stronger local training programs, we’re also laying the foundation for recruitment and retention, helping the centre grow its own healthcare workforce.
This is part of ERHHC’s broader vision: to become a Centre of Excellence in Rural Health, where exceptional care, education, and innovation come together.
With the support of the larger community, they can make that vision real, starting with this essential and innovative training space. These improvements will directly impact the hospital’s capacity to deliver timely, efficient, and compassionate care to the communities of Espanola and the North Shore.
“As our region grows and the demand for services increases, it’s vital that our hospital keeps pace,” says Terri Noble, Coordinator of the Espanola Regional Hospital Foundation.
“This campaign is about more than just dollars—it’s about coming together as a community to ensure our loved ones receive the best care possible, close to home.”
