Final candidates set for two local ridings

There are 11 candidates running in the federal election in our two local ridings.
The Sault Ste. Marie – Algoma Riding has five candidates: Liberal Terry Sheehan, Conservative Hugh Stevenson, New Democrat Laura Mayer, as well as Green Party candidate Robyn Kiki Eshkibok and Collins James of the Christian Heritage Party.
For the Sudbury East – Manitoulin – Nickel Belt, there are six candidates including Marc Serre of the Liberals, New Democrat Andreane Chenier, and Conservative Jim Belanger, joined by Himal Hossain of the Green, Sharilynne St. Louise of the People’s Party and Libertarian Justin Dean Newell of the Libertarians.
The debate for the Sudbury East riding will be held this Thursday in Espanola and all the candidates have been invited to take part.
The doors open at 6:30 pm with the debate from 7 to 9 pm at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex.
The debate is open to the public, who will be provided the opportunity to ask questions.
