The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 46-year-old man in Elliot Lake on Sunday.
The OPP says around 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 27, officers responded to a call for service on Westhill Road, where one person was placed under arrest.
The OPP says while in custody, the individual went into medical distress and was transported to hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The OPP adds the SIU was notified, and it has invoked its mandate.
The SIU is asking anyone who may have information about this investigation, including video or photos, to contact them.
