The Crown Attorney claims a Sudbury man torched a building he owned in Espanola so he could collect on the insurance. The arson trial of David MacIssac is underway in connection with the March 2012 fire in Espanola’s downtown. MacIssac owned the property on Tudhope and when it was torched, the flames spread destroying two apartments and three businesses in another building. MacIssac’s building also housed two families who lost everything. Another man has already been found guilty in the case and the Crown will be using this man’s ex-girlfriend to also get a conviction against MacIssac.
