Coroner makes recommendations after bus runs over woman

Sault Ste. Marie hopes to implement all the recommendations from a coroner examining a bus-related death by the end of the year.  The coroner examined the death of a woman who had gotten off a bus and was run over by the back tires when she fell under the vehicle.  Investigators never determined what caused the 63-year-old to slip under the bus.  The coroner suggested changing advertising frames on the side of buses so the frame doesn’t catch someone’s clothing and drags them.  He also suggested installing video monitors so drivers can see when their passengers are clear of the vehicle.
