New buses ready to hit Elliot Lake streets

Elliot Lake residents should see their new buses on the road by the end of the month.  The city bought two buses, to replace two older vehicles.  Mayor Dan Marchisella says the new vehicles are equipped with well thought-out features including the ability to lower their front end to allow for easier boarding.  At 24-seats, the new vehicles are half the size of the current buses.  Marchisella says this makes them better suited for Elliot Lake because of the city’s hilly terrain and smaller streets.  The mayor says they also cost half what the existing vehicles cost the city and consequently the city might buy two more buses within the next two years to expand transit services.
