Lifetime Achievement Awards to be presented to Indigenous members

Many First Nation members hailing from Manitoulin Island and the North Shore Corridor are set to receive this year’s Anishinabek Lifetime Achievement Award this August.

Every year the Anishinabek Nation 7th Generation Charity hosts a gala to recognize outstanding First Nation members.

This year’s recipients include Genevieve Jacko, Dr, Deborah McGregor, Ron McGregor Senior, and Gloria Oshkabewisens-McGregor all of Whitefish River First Nation; Elaine F. Debassige, Christina Taibossigai and Grant Taibossigai of M’Chigeeng First Nation; joined by Gertie Manitowabi and Marjorie Trudeau of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory.

They will be honoured for contributions to their communities at the 2024 Anishinabek Evening of Excellence, taking place at Casino Rama Resort on August 29th.
