Rainbow Board and ETFO elementary teachers reach tentative agreement

Rainbow District School Board and the Federation representing permanent elementary teachers in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island have reached a tentative agreement at the local level.

Rainbow District School Board Chair David Farrow says details of the agreement will be released once ratified by members of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) Rainbow Local and approved by Rainbow District School Board Trustees.

He adds the new deal, if ratified and approved, will be in effect for the term ending August 31, 2026, aligning with the provincial settlement at the central bargaining table.

Farrow says it is great news for students, staff and parents/guardians.

Liana Holm, President of the ETFO Rainbow Teacher Local adds they attribute this success to the support of members and the positive relationship with the Board.
