Public Health Sudbury & Districts issues drinking water advisory for Gore Bay

Gore Bay is under a drinking water advisory following a break in the watermain.

Public Health Sudbury & Districts has issued a drinking water advisory following a loss of pressure in the municipal system.

Jonathan Groulx, a manager in Public Health’s Health Protection Division, says residents should not consume the water and advises to boil it make it safe to laundry and the like, but under no circumstances to drink it.

He explains it is possible the loss of water pressure created conditions that compromised the safety of the drinking water and until bacteriological testing indicates a safe supply, the drinking water advisory will remain in effect as a precaution.

Groulx adds the agency will monitor the situation and notify the town when the drinking water advisory is lifted.
