348 Manitoulin Sea Cadet Corps celebrating 20th Anniversary

348 Manitoulin Sea Cadets Corps was first recognized by the Department of National Defence as a Sea Cadets Corps on Manitoulin Island twenty years ago.

Spokesperson Rick McCutcheon says the current leader, Lieutenant Sylvain Boucher, oversees the 30 cadets, together with the support of both commissioned and civilian volunteers from the community.

He says on Saturday, June 1, the corps will celebrate the milestone at Manitoulin Secondary School in M’Chigeeng at 1:30 pm, but doors will be open early for seating.

McCutcheon adds the Corps’ Reviewing Officer be the very first Corps commanding officer, Lieutenant Carmen Laidley, now of Sault Ste. Marie.

The public is invited to attend.
