Grand Council Chief has high expectations from new Prime Minister

On one hand, the Grand Council Chief is congratulating Prime Minister-elect Justin Trudeau for his election win on Monday.  But Pat Madahbee says First Nations now have high expectations from the majority Liberal government.  Madahbee says health and education issues need attention on reserves and adds Trudeau has to quickly get rid of harmful Harper legislation.    He says the Conservative government catered to foreign corporations and ignored what was happening in its own backyard.   Madahbee is also expecting movement on a national inquiry into murdered and missing Aboriginal women.  Stephen Harper wouldn’t launch the inquiry but during the campaign, Trudeau said he would.
