New treasurer for the Town of Espanola

Espanola Council has appointed a new treasurer to oversee the town’s financial affairs and strategic financial management.

Julie Bouthillette brings over 10 years of public sector accounting experience with the majority being in the municipal sector as a Treasurer/Director of Financial Services.

She is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Laurentian University and her most recent position was Director of Financial Services with the Township of Georgian Bay.

Bouthillette will assume all areas of finance formerly filled by long-time employee, Cathy Tessier, Manager of Financial Services/Deputy Treasurer, who has recently announced her plans for retirement.

Tessier will be working closely with Bouthillette over the next several months as part of this transition prior to her retirement in early 2025.
