The Espanola Fire Department is offering free home inspections to residents.
Fire Chief Mike Pichor says the inspections will start on Monday, April 29th.
He says they are offering the inspections for two reasons, to assist homeowners in assessing fire risks and hazards in their home, and to ensure they are compliant with smoke and CO alarm legislation.
Pichor adds the inspections are voluntary.
He says the inspections will be carried out over May and June, and possibly July.
Anyone interested in an inspection can contact the fire department.
Firefighters will also be going door-to-door to ask homeowners if they are interested in an inspection.
