Women’s volleyball league moving ahead in Espanola

The Espanola Volleyball Club had their inaugural meeting earlier this week to see if there is enough community interest and involvement in forming a volleyball league for girls and women.

Torrie Trottier says the meeting was a success with over 50 people, so they have begun to fill the volunteer roles within the executive and coaching levels.

She says they have been able to staff the competitive teams with coaches and assistant coaches, however, the club still needs more coaches/volunteers to staff the recreation level teams.

Trottier adds due to the number of young ladies who desperately want to play, they are hoping to implement a recreation level.

She says they also collected $80 in donations to help toward our $1,000 goal to get the club off of the ground, so if anyone would like to make a donation, it would be appreciated.

Donations can be made via e-transfer to [email protected]. If you were unable to attend the meeting and would like information on registration, call or text Torrie Trottier @ 226-724-2071 or send a message on Facebook or post in the Facebook group “Espanola Volleyball Club”. Ryan Bax or Torrie Trottier (president and vice president) will respond to all inquiries as soon as possible.
