Liberals win big in Northern Ontario

In part, the Liberals can thank residents of Northern Ontario for helping them win a majority government.  Of the 10 seats in the North, seven of those ridings turned Liberal red in Monday’s election.  Going into the election, none of the northern seats were Liberal.  Three northern seats remained unchanged.  Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing and Timmins-James Bay returned their incumbent New Democrat MPs, and in Parry Sound-Muskoka, Conservative Tony Clement was re-elected to another four year term.
