BEAR Unit seizes drugs, cash, and stolen property

On Friday, detectives from the Greater Sudbury Police Service Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit concluded an investigation and charged two for property-related crimes.

Detectives arrested a 32- year-old man and a 27-year-old woman on property related offences after executing a search warrant on Edna Street in Chelmsford.

Officials say officers seized drugs believed to be cocaine, meth powder and pills, estimated to have a street value of nearly $60,000, over $60,000 in cash, and nearly $20,000 in stolen property.

As a result, the 32-year-old is facing ten various trafficking and theft charges.

He is to appear in Sudbury court on March 27th.

The charges are as follows

  • Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime
  • Theft Under $5,000 x2
  • Fraud Under $5,000 x2
  • Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – over $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – under $5,000.
