Health network launches Meals on Wheels March campaign

The North Shore Health Network Community Support Services is participating in the 22nd annual #MarchforMeals – a month-long campaign celebration to increase awareness and community engagement with local Meals on Wheels providers across Ontario.

Network CEO Tim Vine says they will recognize the dedication of volunteers who deliver meals, helping to address food insecurity and social isolation, and enabling so many to remain healthy and independent at home.

Vine kicked off the campaign with Blind River Mayor Sally Hagman last Friday.

She says March for Meals Community Champions Week, from March 18 to 22, will raise awareness about the program adding last year, 12 volunteers delivered nearly 3,000 meals throughout the Blind River community.

Vine adds Meals on Wheels is a service that is entirely dependent on local volunteer delivery three days a week.
