Now that Andrew Wannan is officially Elliot Lake’s mayor, there is a vacancy to fill on council.
At its last meeting on February 12TH, council declared the seat vacant.
The vacancy can either be filled by holding a byelection to be held in July at a cost of $59,000, appointment, or by going back to the last election for the next candidate who had the highest votes.
Tonight, council will make its decision on how the vacancy is to be filled on council.
